HPS is the market leading provider of outsourced pharmacy services to hospitals, oncology clinics and correctional facilities in Australia. Funds managed by Blue Sky held the investment in HPS for approximately 2.5 years and exited in May 2017 through a sale to EBOS Group Limited. Over that time, HPS more than doubled its earnings, driven by strong revenue growth from both existing and new customers. The investment generated a return in excess of 30% p.a. net of fees for investors in Blue Sky’s HPS funds. At the Australian Growth Company Awards on Wednesday 25 October 2017, HPS won ‘Exit of the Year’.

Fund managed by Blue Sky invested in Oak Tree Group in 2013, attracted by the compelling retirement living sector dynamics, the strength of the management team and the strategy to pursue greenfield and brownfield sites and to acquire selected existing sites. Over the investment period, the number of sites increased from six operating sites and nine sites under development to a portfolio of 28 sites in September 2017, when Blue Sky exited its 70 per cent stake in Oak Tree Group to First State Super. The investment generated an internal rate of return of 18% per annum (net of fees) for investors in Blue Sky’s Oak Tree funds.
